Jiahong Juda, Partner

Dr. Jiahong Juda is a business executive with rigorous scientific training in astrophysics and a passion for unlocking the hidden potential in the world around her. Acting on her passion, she founded BurnBright Partners, a company that works with traditionally successful executives. She helps them eliminate professional and personal roadblocks, while simultaneously unlocking their long-term potential.  By combining leading academic studies, traditional and contemporary wisdom, and her direct and indirect life experiences, Jiahong has developed a practical and customizable strategic framework for successful professional and personal growth.

Dr. Juda has an atypical background. Born in China in the late 50s, she worked as a farmer during the Cultural Revolution, and later taught physics in a junior
high school. In 1983 Dr. Juda came to the US, and received her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon graduating she worked at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics as an astrophysicist.

Interested in working on projects closer to Earth, she joined STAR (Speech Technology and Applied Research), a start-up company, in 1997. While working
at STAR, she identified her entrepreneurial aspiration. She believes that an entrepreneurial mindset is a powerful tool for professional and personal development, even for those who do not wish to start their own companies. In 2000, Dr. Juda co-founded WEST (Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology), a non-profit organization committed to helping women become innovative leaders and to enhancing their professional growth.

Dr. Juda has more than 20 years of professional experience in a wide range of business environments, including start-ups, research institutions, and non-profits. She has been a member of the Board of Directors at STAR, since 2001 and is a member of WEST, the Organizational Development Learning Group and
Boston Facilitators Roundtable.

Sharon L. Halter
, Partner

In many ways Ms. Halter is a reflection of our typical client, a “been there, done that” senior executive with a solid record of achievement.  During her more than 25-year career she consistently navigated a path to success in a very broad set of business environments, industries, and assignments.  Yet, like many senior executives, Sharon grew increasingly aware that she would need help to fully realize her personal and professional potential.  So it was only natural that she chose to be one of BurnBright Partners first clients.

Based on her very positive personal results with the program Sharon became increasingly involved in driving the development of the business, first as a business coach to Jiahong and most recently as a partner in the firm.

Prior to joining BurnBright Partners, Sharon was President of a $150M international division of Thermo Fisher Scientific manufacturing high performance products for the semiconductor, medical, and laboratory markets.  Before joining Thermo she was Vice President, Operations for NUR Macroprinters, a high-growth international provider of imaging systems, inks, and substrates to the out-of-home advertising market.  While in this position she had direct responsibility for supporting double digit product and services revenue growth throughout the Americas.

As Chief Operating Officer at Holtrachem, Inc., Sharon directed the strategic and operational restructuring and successful sale of the company to a strategic buyer.  Before HoltraChem she was a member of the executive team that acquired the Printing Products business from W. R. Grace thru a Citibank Venture Capital backed management buyout.  During a 15-year career at Grace she directed the development, turnaround, and profitable growth of a broad range of global technology-based businesses including:  engineered materials, high resolution imaging systems, and high performance polymers.

Her Grace tenure included a three-year assignment as European Director of the Printing Products business, based in Cernay, France, and a six-year assignment growing a technology spin-off from the concept stage into a profitable $10M systems business.

Sharon has an MBA in Marketing and Management from the Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin.
